Brooke Giesen, ECESF Board member

Brooke Giesen’s passion and love is Early Childhood Education. Brooke has been working in the field for 19 years. She began as a Teacher at The Jewish Community Center of the East Bay for 8 years. She then became the Lead Teacher for 6 years and promoted to Director for 8 years at The Community Preschool – Grace Cathedral, an intentionally socio-economically diverse, mixed age program. Brooke holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Women’s Studies from University of California Santa Cruz and a Program Director Permit from California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

She has been a Leader for the Bay Area Network for Diversity Training in Early Childhood (BANDTEC) Equity Leadership Project since 2018 providing trainings, peer-to-peer support, and participation in a Community of Practice. She served as a Director Mentor for one year at the California Consortium for Equity in Early Childhood Education’s Equity Leaders Fellowship in Early Care and Education. She presented her experience at First 5 California’s Child Health, Care and Education 2019 Summit. In 2020, Brooke Co-Founded a non-profit called The Center for Leadership, Equity and Research in Early Learning (CLEREL) along with five other women in the early childhood field.
