DESCRIPTION:For this event\, SFDPH’s Katie DellaMaria will give vaccination and COVID updates\, CPAC will discuss planning work regarding racial equity. \n  \nThe Child Care Planning and Advisory Council (CPAC) is San Francisco’s state mandated local planning council (LPC) established to provide a forum for the identification of local ECE priorities and the development of policies and strategies that meet the needs of children\, families\, and providers. CPAC Membership Meetings are open to the public and provide important updates from CPAC’s committees\, public agencies\, key stakeholders and the early care and education community. Throughout the year there are interesting presentations on subjects that are pertinent to the early education field.  \n  \nECESF representatives serve on the Executive Committee and Chair the Workforce Committee and AdHoc on the Black Child. DESCRIPTION:Live translation offered in Español\, 廣東話\, and 普通話. \n \nIn the United States today\, women make up approximately half (47%) of the overall workforce\, but are 95% of the child care workforce. Can you imagine a world where caregiving and caregivers are valued? \nIn honor of Women’s Equal Pay Day—this year recognized on March 24\, 2021\, ECESF invites you to an evening with Max Dashu to discuss women’s caregiving history from an international perspective. Max Dashu draws on her 50 years of research on this subject in a richly expanded visual presentation that explores the role of elders and teachers through storytelling and songs. She will share societies where women’s responsibilities are given more than lip service\, so that those who actually do this crucial work are accorded authority and decision-making power because of it. Participants will learn and practice concrete strategies for implementing the 4 Core Anti-bias Education goals in early learning environments to support and scaffold children’s ongoing growth and development. \n  \nDeminika Spears is an early childhood consultant and coach\, specializing in Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion training and support. With a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership\, she consults with organizations and schools about their equity plans and processes. \n  \nThis workshop will begin promptly at 10:00am. SUMMARY:Mindful Practices for Empowering Educators
DESCRIPTION:In this embodied online workshop\, participants will learn how to integrate movement\, yoga\, and breath work with children in order to increase social-emotional skill development (like confidence and resiliency)\, as well as practice ways to improve teacher physical\, mental\, and emotional health. \n  \nJustine Luong has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Neuromuscular Science and is a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist. She has spent over 10 years working in the health and wellness field\, including the development of a wellness curriculum for the children and teachers at Big City Montessori School. \n  \nThis workshop will begin promptly at 1:30PM. Every three years states and territories receiving CCDF funds must prepare and submit to the federal government a State Plan detailing how these funds will be allocated and expended.
