Sally Large

Treasurer

Sally Large started her career as an intake caseworker with the Bronx, NY Bureau of Child Welfare, followed by work as Assistant Director at the Hudson Guild Settlement House’s comprehensive child development program. Her advocacy for children and families of all backgrounds was inspired by these experiences. After relocating to California she became a research associate at  Stanford Research Institute.  She taught early childhood education classes at DeAnza and Canada Community Colleges and recently led the Director Seminars for the California Mentor Program through San Francisco City College. Prior to her current position as Executive Director at Friends of St. Francis Child Care Center, she worked as a facilities developer at ASIAN Inc., a training associate with the San Francisco Family Service Agency.

In addition to the ECESF board, she also currently serves on the board of the San Francisco Early Learning Alliance and The Paul and Linda Kahn Foundation. Prior community involvement includes serving on the Board of the Children’s Council of S.F. and on the S.F. Child Care Planning and Advisory Council including a period as chair. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, a Master’s degree in Education and Urban Studies and Planning. Her hobbies include photography, floral design, gardening and writing.
