San Francisco’s Wage Crisis in Youth-Serving Nonprofits: 2024 Report

Madison Holland shared San Francisco’s Wage Crisis in Youth-Serving Nonprofits: 2024 report at the October Service Provider’s Work Group (SPWG), and announced the launch of Prosperity Initiative, an organization which will work alongside of SPWG but will add the ability to be more flexible to better focus on raising awareness and identifying effective solutions to the issues youth-serving nonprofit workers face. She will serve as Executive Director. The organizing work that San Francisco early child care educators have done to lift educator wages has inspired youth-serving organizations to ensure that those who do “the heart work” do not sacrifice their own well-being. ECESF celebrates this emerging organization and the ongoing work that SPWG does, and stands in solidarity with all Heart Workers. Take a look at the 2024 report and the Prosperity Initiative’s website.
