JOIN US AT THE RALLY FOR CHILD CARE & FAMILIES and stay for public comment!
San Francisco City Hall (1 Dr. Carlton B Goodlett Pl, SF, CA 94102). Directions/ parking.
The rally is co-hosted with the SF ECE Advocacy Coalition and ECE Champion Supervisor Melgar (D7). The rally will take place from 10:30 – 11:15 am with guest speakers and media interviews! After the rally, we will be providing burrito lunches + drinks to child care community members staying for public comment. We reserved Room 278 for children and families. The rest of the ECE community will gather in the North Light Court Room for letter writing and waiting for public comment.
RSVP to make accurate lunch orders and allow for overflow seating. We encourage you to bring children–take a field trip with your class!

Schedule of Events:
- 10:30 AM-11:15AM: Child Care Rally on the Steps of City Hall
- 11:00 AM-11:30AM: Presentations incl. Department of Early Childhood
- 11:30AM-6:00PM: Public comment*
*Public comment begins ~11:30am. There will be speakers on many issues outside the child care community & we expect long wait times to give comment. We understand you may be unable to wait for your chance to speak, so please sign up for a 6/15 public comment time slot here so we know when to expect our community.
Important Details:
- You may bring large signs/banners to the rally outside, however, you may not bring any signs larger than 11” x 17” or mounted on sticks inside City Hall.

- We know it may be your first time and we have advocates to support you!
- You will have 2 minutes to speak and you may speak in YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE (Chinese, Spanish, etc).
- You will get to move to the front of the speaker line if you have a child.
- Write your own talking points—use these Prop C talking points (short or long) as a guide.
- Even if you don’t live in SF but you work in SF you can give public comment!!
- Public comment is long. We expect to be at City Hall for the whole day. If you need to leave and come back that is fine.

- Bring a refillable water bottle! There are water fountains in the building.
- Wear a shirt from your child care site/child care advocacy group! We will also be giving out SF ECE Advocacy Coalition shirts and scarves!
Unable to make it in-person on June 15th? We encourage you to participate in other ways!

- VIRTUAL Public Comment will probably take place 6/15 between 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Link to Gov Channel to watch and call-in.

Alcaldia de San Francisco (1 Dr. Carlton B Goodlett Pl, SF, CA 94102). Direcciones/ estacionamiento. RSVP para hacer pedidos de almuerzo precisos y permitir asientos disponibles . Lo alentamos a que traiga niños: ¡haga una excursión con su clase!
El mitin es organizado conjuntamente por Melgar (D7), supervisora campeona de ECE, y se llevará a cabo de 10:30 a. m. a 11:15 a. m. con oradores invitados y entrevistas con los medios. ¡Después del mitin, proporcionaremos almuerzos de burritos + bebidas a los miembros de la comunidad de cuidado infantil que se queden para recibir comentarios del público!

- El comentario público es largo. Esperamos estar en el Ayuntamiento durante todo el día. Si necesitas irte y volver, está bien.
- ¡Llévate una botella de agua recargable! Hay fuentes de agua en el edificio.
- ¡Use una camiseta de su sitio de cuidado infantil/grupo de defensa del cuidado infantil! ¡También estaremos entregando camisetas y bufandas de la Coalición de Defensa de ECE de SF!
¿No puede asistir en persona el 15 de junio? ¡Te animamos a participar de otras formas!
