Public Comment Day! Defend Baby Prop C

JOIN US AT CITY HALL ON MONDAY, JUNE 26TH at 2 – 6PM for public comment day! 

This June over 700 community members have made their voice heard and we have made a HUGE impression on the Board of Supervisors while advocating for the preservation of Baby Prop C–they are listening!! This is the last chance for ALL child care advocates, educators, parents, families, and children to give  public comment at City Hall this budget season!

Once again we will provide food and refreshments for child care community members joining for public comment. Remember to bring a water bottle, bring your coalition scarf if you have one and wear a shirt from your child care site/child care advocacy group! 

Important note: Anyone can give public comment anytime starting at 10 am on Monday, June 26th, after a 9am Budget Justice Rally. However, we suspect a long line from other advocates giving comments until 2pm++. For that reason, we plan to organize the ECE community turnout on Monday between 2-6pm so it is easier to join after work hours. 

How do I give public comment? We know it may be your first time and we have advocates to support you! 

IN-PERSON

• You will have 1 MINUTE to speak and you may speak in YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE (Chinese, Spanish, etc).

• Write your own talking points—use these Prop C talking points (short / long) as a guide.

• • • Puntos de discusión de la Propuesta C (cortos / largos).

• There may be long wait times. Plan to be there for at least 2 hours.

• You will get to move to the front of the speaker line if you have a child.

• Even if you don’t live in SF but you work in SF you can give public comment!!

 

BY PHONE

• Virtual public comment will take place after in-person comments on 6/26 (we estimate between 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm). We will send an email when phone lines open. 
• Link to Gov Channel to watch and call-in.

 

BY EMAIL

• Write a letter to supervisors and the mayor in English, Spanish, and Chinese.
• Contact information for full Board of Supervisors and Mayor.

Este junio, más de 700 miembros de la comunidad hicieron oír su voz y causamos una ENORME impresión en la Junta de Supervisores al abogar por la preservación de Baby Prop C. ¡Están escuchando! ¡Esta es la última oportunidad para que TODOS los defensores del cuidado infantil, educadores, padres, familias y niños hagan comentarios públicos en el Ayuntamiento en esta temporada presupuestaria! 

 

LUNES 26 DE JUNIO │Día de comentarios públicos en el Ayuntamiento

Una vez más, proporcionaremos alimentos y refrigerios a los miembros de la comunidad de cuidado infantil que se unan para recibir comentarios del público. ¡Recuerde traer una botella de agua, traiga su bufanda de la coalición si tiene una y use una camisa de su sitio de cuidado infantil/grupo de defensa del cuidado infantil!

 

Nota importante: Cualquiera puede hacer comentarios públicos en cualquier momento a partir de las 10 a. m. del lunes 26 de junio, después de una manifestación de justicia presupuestaria a las 9 a. m. Sin embargo, sospechamos que habrá una larga fila de otros defensores dando comentarios hasta las 2 p. m.++. Por esa razón, planeamos organizar la participación de la comunidad de ECE el lunes entre las 2 y las 6 p. m. para que sea más fácil unirse después del horario laboral.

 

¿Cómo doy un comentario público? ¡Sabemos que puede ser su primera vez y tenemos defensores para apoyarlo!

 

EN PERSONA

• Tendrá 1 MINUTO para hablar y podrá hablar en SU IDIOMA NATIVO (chino, español, etc.).
• Escriba sus propios puntos de discusión: utilice estos puntos de discusión de la Propuesta C (cortos / largos).
• Puede haber largos tiempos de espera. Planee estar allí por lo menos 2 horas.
• Podrá pasar al frente de la fila de oradores si tiene un hijo.
• ¡Incluso si no vive en SF pero trabaja en SF, puede hacer comentarios públicos!

 

POR TELÉFONO

• Los comentarios públicos virtuales se realizarán después de los comentarios en persona el 26/6 (estimamos entre las 5:00 p. m. y las 8:00 p. m.). Enviaremos un correo electrónico cuando se abran las líneas telefónicas.
• Enlace a Gov Channel para ver y llamar.

 

POR CORREO ELECTRÓNICO

• Escriba una carta a los supervisores en inglés, español y chino.
