Michelle Murano is a multi-passionate woman behind a mixture of creative, educational, and soul-bearing endeavors. Over the past twenty years, she has journeyed into a deep devotion of advocating for children, families, educators, and diverse learning communities.

Michelle is currently the Lead Teacher in a classroom of 4- and 5-year-olds, providing opportunities and pathways for social/emotional learning, such as identity-building, practical communication and language, and cultivating community. Using an Anti-Bias lens, social connection, problem-solving, and self-expression top her values as an educator. She sees her role as an observer, guide, and behavioral model for children learning to interact and relate to their environment and the people in it.

In 2020, Michelle was a fellow of Rockwood Institute’s Early Learning Care & Health Leadership Fellowship, which supports leaders working in roles that support all children, focusing on birth through age five. With a drive for uplifting the voices and experiences of educators, Michelle uses her background in broadcasting and electronic media to produce & co-host a podcast for education professionals called Lesson Up! (Apple Podcasts / Spotify) in collaboration with Early Care Educators of San Francisco.

Michelle’s professional influence includes facilitating workshops for ECE professionals, including teachers, administrators, parents, and other child care providers as well as facilitating ECESF teacher focus groups. In addition to local and statewide audiences, Michelle’s workshops and presentations have been given at the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s Annual Virtual Conference in 2021 on the topic of “Uplifting the Collective Educator Experience” where she shared how she and others are finding their voice and bringing their values and vision forth to empower themselves and each other in strengthening the quality of early education as well as the 2022 HighScope International Conference on the topic of “Cultivating Belonging in ECE and Beyond.”
